Our Story

Bhavani, a small town in Erode district, Tamil Nadu, lies at the confluence of the Cauvery, Bhavani, and Amudha rivers. Known as the “Carpet City” of South India, it is famed for Bhavani Jamakkalam — a handloom carpet-like material introduced about 200 years ago by local weavers using coarse, colorful threads. Its popularity replaced some traditional saree weaving, and in 2005–06, it earned a Geographical Indication (GI) tag. Notably, Bhavani Jamakkalam won first prize at the Madras Fair in 1883, as recorded in the Coimbatore District Manual of 1887.
